Trip Description: Fish Lake Bastrop Fri, Sat, and Sun. Kayak, canoe, or motorized boat. Two ONE airstream a/c trailers is reserved for Fri and Sat night, and that trailer is full. (Lady Bird-spot #60) Day trippers and tent campers are welcome. We will meet at 630am Fri and Sat at Northshore boat dock. See below for food arrangements. Bass and perch.

TRIP REPORT: A great morning. Four kayakers arrived at 630am, as planned, and were in the water fishing by ~715am. Fishing was good, with 13 largemouth bass and over 50 perch caught on top water (VIP poppers and spiders). Five (5) of the lmb were 3+lbs…nice fish. Beautiful lake, only a couple other kayaks and one boat. Even had a couple alligator sightings, but no issues.
We got pushed off the water by weather at about 11am….rain started with some thunder in the distance. Made a good decision and packed up. But the morning was worth it.
The lake and campground are very nice. Easy drive from Hou, very nice boat ramp, lots of parking and camping. A really good weekday trip….never been there on the weekend so hard to comment, but I suspect it gets a little more traffic…..We WILL do it again. See pictures below:

FFI Texas Multi-Club Outing April 21, 2018
Join the Texas Council and the Fort Worth Fly Fishers for a fun filled day on the Brazos River below Lake Whitney. The outing will take place at Spivey Crossing RV Park on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Many of us will be there on Friday and stay until Sunday. There are 14 RV sites there with water and electric hookups as well as an unlimited number of tent sites. The access to the river is very friendly and can be waded or you can fish from a kayak or canoe.
