Ron Mayfield is putting together another trip to Chetumal Bay – one of the last unexplored bay systems on the Yucatan Peninsula.  The dates are Sept. 5th-11th, 2026

Chetumal Bay is south of Ascension Bay and Espritu Santo Bay and offers the same type of fly fishing opportunities – grand slams and even super slams in one day (bonefish, tarpon, permit and snook).  This is a big tarpon fishery – the group has caught tarpon up to 140 lbs.  Smaller tarpon in the 20-50 lb. are very prevalent.
