I fished two days last week on the Nueces River in Camp Wood.
The flow was still pretty strong from Barksdale down to Nueces Lake. A few fish were landed, but the wading was a little treacherous for me. The tail waters just below the dam on Nueces Lake were almost perfect with a comfortable flow rate, depth, and water clarity. Blue gills and sunfish were in abundance and were really liking both poppers and small streamers. A light brown or tan color was working particularly well. I was really happy to see that the bass are in abundance for a change. I landed several from 1/2 lb up to 2 lbs.
