Ron will be discussing and showing highlights from trips to Chetumal Bay. Chetumal Bay is the largest and least fished bay on the eastern side of the Yucatan peninsula. He has lead 3 trips to Chetumal Bay and is leading a 4th this next Sept. He will be covering topics such as fish species, locations, equipment and flies for fly fishing the Chetumal Bay system.

Due to our normal meeting location at Mendenhal not being available for the last Tuesday of the month and the projected weather conditions on Tuesday January 21, we have decided postpone our club meeting until Thursday January 30th and meet with the Houston PACK club. There will be a presentation on kayaking and fishing the Devil’s River near Del Rio, Texas.
Location will be Spring Creek BBQ in Katy, Texas ( north side of I-10 at Westgreen road between Mason and Fry roads). Meeting will start promptly at 6 pm and if wanting to eat there, please arrive by 5:45 pm and can enjoy your meal during the presentation.
You’re invited to TFF gathering and social event. We plan to have have a meal together, swap stories and pass out a few door prizes. This will be a good time to visit and talk about the years 2024 and 2025.

The current plan to have a fishing reports, scheduled fishing outings, and other discussions with club members. Other topics are still under discussion. If you have suggestions, please share.
Our next structured, in person, meeting is scheduled for January 28th, 2025, at 6:00pm (1800hrs) with a premeeting, tying, talking as soon as the room becomes available, about 5:00pm (1700hrs)
The meeting tonight has Scott Fossum speaking on Do It Yourself Flats fishing.
Scott is a long time member, an avid fly tyer, an accomplished angler, and great mentor.
Start time 6 pm. Come a little early to socialize before the official time.
On a personal note: I’ve been gone for months and want to make the meeting tonight. As much as I love sharing things with my friends, the cold I have is not one of those things. I don’t think it is a good idea for me to share this bug with our anglers. So to my regret, I will not be there tonight. “Puck”
Our mini-expo was used in place of our normal Last Tuesday of the month meeting.

Our own club member Tim Stokely will speak Tuesday night June 25 about fishing the Baja of Mexico for Jacks, Roosterfish, Mahi and other species. This includes East Cape and Bahia de los Suenos where most of the current IGFA records are held.

About Steve:
Our speaker for Tuesday April 30 is TFF member Blake Colburn. Blake is a long time member of PACK club and has led many trips inshore and offshore (Bob Hall rig). He will share his knowledge of kayak safety, rigging, and general information on kayak fishing. This will be a very interactive meeting and Blake will have a kayak on site to demonstrate information.
Meeting time is 6:00 – 7:45 pm at Trini Mendenhall Center.
