I’ve been coached, by multiple tyers, over the years on the joys of catching fish on a crab fly. I’ve tied a few over the years, but never was comfortable with the claws. Well, with help, I think I have it figured out.
Crab claws, don’t work so hard….

Neat trick!
Had a little trouble getting the straight leg of the safety pin to bend toward the hooked leg so I used a large paper clip instead. It works just fine.
