Tie1On, will be holding its December monthly meeting Tuesday night December 6, 2022 at Jax Grill located at 1613 Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77007 (near IH 10 and Shepherd Drive).

Participants generally arrive around 6 pm for dinner and/or a favorite beverage to be followed by an hour and half or so of fly tying in a private dining area beginning at 7 pm. The gathering usually ends around 8:30-9 pm.

For the December meeting, long time club member Ron Mayfield will be teaching the tyers present how to tie his Mohawk Minnow Pinfish deer hair fly pattern.

Ron is a very experienced fly angler, fly tyer and fly designer; is a Signature Fly Tyer with the Umpqua Fly Fishing Company and is one of the authors of the book of Saltwater Fly Patterns recently published by Fly Fishers International.  Additionally, Ron is currently serving as the fly tying chairman for the Texas Council of Fly Fishers International.

All club members are welcome to attend.  Bring your vise and tools if you are interested in tying but if you just want to come out and participate as an observer or just socialize with friends and others with an interest in fly tying come on out and join the fun.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome at the meeting. Ron is not only an experienced angler and fly tyer, he is also a talented speaker and teacher.

If you are interested in learning the pattern and participating as a student tyer, note your interest in the comments below along with your email address and a list of the materials to be used for the patterns will be sent to you prior to the meeting. If you are interested in tying and do not have all of the materials come on out and prepare to tie anyway as materials for the patterns are usually shared freely between the tyers.
