At the Tuesday, September 24, 2019 monthly meeting of the Texas Fly Fishers, Captain Stacy Lynn (stacy@wowflyfishing.com) will be the guest speaker and will be making a presentation titled “Seven Simple Skills for Improved Fly Fishing Success”.  

“After 20+ years of instructing and watching thousands of anglers cast and fish I have consistently seen several things that almost all anglers do regularly that affect their fishing success.  Some of these things seem small but they can have big effects – especially if a few are combined together.  Maybe you only need to adjust one thing (congrats on being a skilled angler), or maybe you could use a few of the improvements (welcome to the club). When notified of these issues anglers tend to have “ah-ha” moments: “Ah-ha, I didn’t know that I was doing that and that it was what was causing my problem” and “Ah-ha, I see how doing it the improved way fixed that problem”.  Some of the Seven Simple Skills I will present are improvements or advancements to basic techniques, and some are the fixes to consistent problems I see anglers have.  These Seven Simple Skills have improved my fishing, I know they will improve yours!”

Stacy has been an avid saltwater and freshwater fly angler since 1995, has 20+ years experience as a professional fly fishing coach and guide and is a Fly Fishers International Certified Fly Casting Instructor.  Her favorite fly fishing endeavors are sight casting in saltwater from her poling skiff to redfish in local waters and to tarpon and permit in tropical destinations. With regard to casting instruction, her specialties are conducting casting diagnostics along with helping fly casters prepare for the saltwater fly fishing experience.  Additionally she is a licensed professional guide and hosts guided fly fishing trips for fly anglers on the Texas coast.  There is no charge for admission and all are welcome at the meeting. Stacy is not only a fine guide, angler and instructor, she is also a talented speaker. You will not want to miss this presentation.
