CANCELLED OUTING: West Fork San Jacinto: Sat, Jan 28; Wading for Bass/sunfish

CANCELLED OUTING: Storm did a number on the River. Flows too high. Sat, Jan 28 Wading West Fork San Jacinto Hitting deep pools, log jams etc. with a target on bass and sunfish.  River bottom can be sandy, muddy, and you will need to traverse brush.  This wade is characterized as “moderate”. My thoughts are to wade downstream for a couple hrs, then turn around and head back up to the car park.  This is “Wade #4 ” out of Robert McConnell’s new book Fly Fishing Houston and Southeastern Texas, which is available on Feb 7. Call or Email leader (No Evite will be set up)

OUTING: John Scarborough Sunfish Spectacular, 2023-04-15-0700 (date locked)

This is THE family friendly event of the year! Join us for the annual chance to capture the John Scarborough Sunfish Spectacular Trophy and a decent feed on Saturday the 15th of April (date is confirmed) at Damon Seven Lakes. Fishing from the shore, but float tubes and kayaks are quite successful. Contrary to the name there are now nine different, unique lakes of good size that hold largemouth bass, tiger bass, catfish, black crappie, and bluegill. Catching bass in the three to five pound range is a normal occurrence. Twelve pound bass, decent channel cats, and twelve inch bream have been caught in the last four years.
