FW Outing: 2025 South Llano River Float (Thursday through Sunday, April 10-13, 2025.)

The South Llano Trip is just over the horizon. We have only a small number of members signed up at this time. The Club has to pay for 2 cabins for 3 nights regardless of how many people come and stay. If married couples come, our host Nol, has offered us (couples) an additional place to stay. This annual Club trip is one of the few opportunities to get out to the Hill Country and to fish one of the most productive rivers in the State. 2023 year’s event was cancelled due to weather, so please consider making your plans ASAP.

Registration is now open via the link in the post listed below. There are 5 categories of lodging, and we would ask that you indicate which one you will use. Cabin space is limited. If you need cabin space then reserve a spot, and we will collect your deposit, locking your spot.

Trip Description:  See below…

Day 1: The first meeting of the trip will be at: Bon Ton Roulet Cabins, 171 KC 150, Junction, Texas, 76849

We’ll meet at this area getting our casting skills honed, and practicing with various flies.  Potluck at the grill for dinner at our camp. Please bring some type of food item to contribute to the Friday night meal.

Day 2:  Launch from second crossing US-377 down to KC150.  This is just a little over 3 miles of water, and is very easy to get a lot of good fishing in.
Start:  30.362156, -99.889391  End:  30.393194,-99.88180

Livery will be a DIY again this year. Pot luck dinner Saturday night. Again, please bring a food item to contribute to the meal.

Day 3: First crossing bridge where the river crosses US 377. We will fish downstream to the second crossing. Or we could retrace our steps from day 2.

  1. I plan on going Thursday to allow two for two full days of fishing. If you are of the same mind send me a PM and we can coordinate pick up and drop off. We can get dinner in town.

    • Hi Larry-
I plan on getting there Thursday afternoon and tent camping. I would like to fish both Friday and Saturday. I have to leave pretty early on Sunday.

  2. I plan on attending. Will be staying in the Kerrville area and driving out in the mornings to meet up for fishing.
