Our Freshwater Chair and I just had to get out a of the house and go fishing. With the perfect weather, but recent rains, the options were slim, so we chose to head out to Damon 7 Lakes.
Once we got the water out of the boat, we rigged up, me with a 3wt and Tom with his 6wt. The catching started almost immediately, with one bluegill after another falling for our flies. The occasional bass decided that our flies would be a good snack, and also came to hand.
I’ve been told, more than once, that the best time to go fishing is “When you can!” Today proved that axiom to be correct, again. Between the two of us we landed over 70 fish.
The photo on the header shows Tom holding the best LMB of the day. There were others hook, but we had LLRs (Long Line Releases) on those.
The fly of the day was:
A size 12, black bully spider, with chartreuse legs.
My friend Puck can be a little disingenuous at times…..my fish count was a good day for me, but he just killed them. 🙂 It was a fine afternoon of fishing and visiting.
