| Greetings….. or Howdy! as we like to say here in Aggieland. We would like to invite you to a couple of events coming up in the Fall. Firstly, Aggieland Fly Fishers is hosting the Second Annual Fly-Fishing Round Up on Saturday, September 30, 2023. You can find out more about this event at AggielandFF.org/roundup2023 but it is a fall festival celebrating all things fly fishing. We have attached flyers you can distribute and social media postings for your use to inform your friends, club members and clientele about the day. We will have Live Music, Food Trucks, Casting and Tying instruction, Presentations, a Kids’ Zone, and a Fishing Tournament. We invite you to stay for the VIP Afterparty where we will thank our volunteers, vendors, tiers, instructors, and guides for their help and commitment to raising support for Good Fly. Food, drink, a concert, and games included in the ticket price. Hey, you’re going to have to eat somewhere. Secondly, Good Fly and the Texas Council of FFI are hosting a Gathering of Casting Instructors on Sunday after the Round Up, October 1, 2023. This is an opportunity for anyone who instructs. Spend a day sharpening your skills instructing and casting. We as instructors spend a lot of time working with students and often neglect the fact that we need to be learning new instructional and casting skills that will improve our ability to serve our clients. We have gathered a world class set of instructors to present on topics we all can use. In addition, we are interested in cultivating a community in the casting instruction family and spending quality time together will help foster that. Register here Goodfly.org/gathering2023. If you have candidates that would be ready to take a CCI Pre-Test at the end of September, please contact us. Lastly, for those who are not familiar with Good Fly we would like to invite you to visit our website and consider bringing a Good Fly chapter to your community. At Good Fly we serve with a vision of Emotionally Healthy Communities. We offer free, one-day casting workshops to the first responder community to reduce stress and anxiety. We pray the day we call a first responder they are having a better day than we are. As we all know, fly casting and fly fishing is a sure-fire stress reliever.
