Making Dubbing Brushes from Bonnie Braid

EP dubbing brushes (https://www.epflies.com/shop/materials/brush/) are great for making bulky flies for freshwater bass and saltwater. However, one pack is about $9 (depending on width) and will make a 2-3 flies. You can make your own using Bonnie Braid with a few simple steps. You don’t need a dubbing table or tool, but it does make the process easier. Making them yourself also allows full control of color (single or mixed) and the addition of other materials such as crystal flash. The larger the flies you make (wider brushes), the more you will save making your own.

The source material is called Bonnie Braid (available at Hobby Lobby, Amazon, etc).
