Tie for REEL RECOVERY While We Make our Way thru COVID-19!

Guys:

The thought occurred to me that while we all make our way through these uncertain times, basically confined to our homes, many are keeping sane by fly tying in anticipation of a great season.

Last year’s First Annual Fly Drive for REEL RECOVERY was a great success, thanks to you as well as the SIG “Tie One On”.

We received well over 500 flies, but we also consumed more than 250 at our November retreat.  We need to replenish that stock with Warmwater flies, in particular.  (Many of the flies we received, while generous donations, do not suit the target species / waters.)

Adding to the need this year is the fact that National is not supplying flies, each Region is “on their own” to build stock piles.

We had intended to launch the Second Annual Fly drive in May, BUT WHY NOT NOW?!

WITH THAT BEING SAID, AS YOU ENDEAVOR TO KEEP YOUR SELVES BUSY, WHY NOT TIE A DOZEN FOR THIS GREAT EFFORT?
Here’s the flies that we typically need:

Squirmy wormy
Mop fly
San Juan worm
Sam’s one bug
Yellow spiders
Black spiders
Wooly buggers olive
Wooly buggers black
Wooly worms
Clouser minnow
Small bluegill poppers
Bead head nymphs
Or
ANY FLIES YOU HAVE HAD SUCCESS WITH TARGETING BASS AND PANFISH IN SMALL PONDS!!!

Drew Cox, Dave Steffek, and I will accept the donations at the  TFF  meetings right up until our retreat (tentatively scheduled) for October 30 thru  November 1.
Expect more communications as we move forward, stay well, and tight lines!
