Guadalupe bust

Tracy and I went up to Sattler on Saturday and were going to stay until Tuesday and fish the Guadalupe. We fished Saturday afternoon at Maricopa and Sunday at DeLoach. We only saw one  fish caught the whole time. The flows were high and the water somewhat stained. Wind and rain were the orders of the day. By Sunday night, I found Tracy had given me the cold she had been fighting all week, so with our tails between our legs and my head feeling like a football, we left a day early and headed back to Richmond. Hopefully, the outing on the 16th will be more productive.

Beaver Bend – Lower Mountain Fork washed away again!

From the GRTU website

“Some news for those that visit the Lower Mountain Fork River in Oklahoma. The gates are now open more than they were in May to make room for extremely high amounts of water in the reservoir.

The gates were opened this AM and the very fast and high flows have claimed the Beaver Bend Fly Shop which was loosed from it’s foundation/pylons and was seen floating away by its owner, Eddie, about 4 hours ago. Time will only tell what other damage will occur, but the park is currently closed. Hopefully, damages will be kept to a minimum at our next closest year-round closest trout water.”

Very sad! Several of us were just up there Dec 3-6. There were still trying to recover from the floods in May.
