My new subdivision has a 3 acre lake near the entrance. Of course I had to grab the 5 wt and go check it out. Tossed a woolly bugger for a bit to n o avail until I moved a bit down the shoreline and then bang! Cast after cast brought me little bass. It reminded me of the retention pond at White Oak. I got bored with the WB and tied on a popper. The bites weren’t quite as frequent, but we more entertaining. The 5 is overkill, but I see my 3 wt getting a workout in the future!

Just little guys, but they are willing to bite and fun on my 3wt. Tracy & I fished them last night and had a few laughs with a small popper.

They actually all are bass. The only other fish I saw was a carp in the shallows. No sign of any bream.

If you can keep the cormorants away they may actually grow to become big bass.
