Texas FlyFishers of Houston Event: Kayak/Canoe/Motorized Boat – Lake Bastrop (Bastrop, Texas)

Trip Description: Fish Lake Bastrop in the winter; Fri/Sat, Jan 10-11. Kayak, canoe, or motorized boat. Three tent campsites have been reserved for Friday, Jan 10th. (#80, #81, #82) LCRA “canvas” tents and cots are available for 12 people (6 tents, 12 cots). We will meet at 6:30 am Fri and Sat at the Northshore boat dock. Pot luck Friday night. (Bring a side dish) Breakfast Sat morning on your own.

Start Time: 6:30 am Friday: I will be at the boat ramp at 6:30am on Fri – Sat to launch. Park gate opens at 6 am. I have reserved three tent campsites for Fri night. (#80, #81, #82) There will be a total of six LRCA tents with two cots each (cots available for twelve people). There will also be room for those who want to bring their own tents.

Trip Description: Kayak/Canoe trip.

We will fish Lake Bastrop on Fri and Sat. I have reserved three tent campsites. All three of the tent campsites will have LCRA tents with cots. (six tents with twelve cots total) There is additional space on the campsites for those with their own tents or tent cots. My plan is to fish in the morning/afternoon on both Fri and Sat…explore the whole lake. If you are not interested in camping overnight, come and join us for Fri or Sat. Meet at the Northshore Park boat ramp at 630 am both days.

The plan will be to have a pot luck on Friday. Bring a side dish. Breakfast Sat on your own. The total cost will be appx $20 person for the night plus $5 entrance fee at the park gate.

Several of us made a day trip to Lake Bastrop earlier this year, and the lake is very fishable via kayak, canoe, or boat. All are welcome.

Cost: $5 payable to the park upon entrance, plus $20 to cover campsite costs.
