This post is a little dated but haven’t had a chance to do it until today. I hit the Guadalupe with a friend and his son who were in town a couple weekends ago. We went with Chris and Dillian from Gruene Outfitters. I would highly recommend a float with either of them. They had an in-depth knowledge of the river and were all-around great guys.
Fishing was a little slow, although not for lack of trying, and both rainbow trout and a long-ear was brought to hand. Nymphing was the name of the game with the fish that were caught hitting egg patterns and pink worm flies.
All in all it ended up being a fine day on the water with temps in the 70s.
Rob, this is your first posting. Thanks for your contribution and a great report about what’s happening on the Guadalupe. Only in Texas, a rainbow and a sunfish on the same fishing trip.
