This year’s TFF sponsored TITC project started at the end of January, with several thousand rainbow trout eggs making their way into schools all across Houston. This year we have tanks running at the following schools:

• Katy HS (3 tanks) Katy has been running the program since we started in 2012
• Seven Lakes HS
• Jordan HS (new this year)
• Tomas HS (new this year)
• B. F. Terry HS
• Fulshear HS
• Foster HS
• George Ranch HS
• Randle HS
• Lamar Consolidated HS
• Lamar Special Sites (Lamar ISD has committed to running the program in all their high schools)
• Westbury HS
• Pasadena Memorial HS (two tanks)
• Barbers Hill Middle
• Lake Creek Academy (new this year)
• Deer Park HS (new this year)
• New Caney HS (new this year)

The eggs have already started hatching and so far all the tanks are doing well. I will keep posting updates as the fish grow. The plan is to release the young fish into the TU managed section of the Guad in early May.

This year’s TFF sponsored Trout in the Classroom project kicked off last month, with the arrival of eggs for the Houston schools. This year we have tanks running in classrooms in Katy HS, Seven Lakes HS, Pasadena Memorial HS, Fulshear HS, Lamar Consolidated HS, George Ranch HS, B F Terry HS, Randle HS and Foster HS! Eggs are already starting to hatch and we will be raising the trout up to the fry stage, before releasing them into the TU managed section of the Guadalupe river in late April, early May. I will post photo’s and videos as things progress!
