FOTM: Simple fly, and no, I do not remember the name.

Once upon a time, in a land far away, I fished for trout. This charming, and simple, fly pattern was one of my “go-to” flies. It worked in places that it never should have. I dabbled it on a slack line, or used it as a dropper. I kept a dozen or so on hand every time I went fishing for many years. And then…….

Hook: Mustad 9672 size 12
Thread 6/0 (140D) brown
Brace32 gage wire, counter wound
Tailsoft hackle hen, 1/2 hook shaft long
Bodypeacock herl, 4-7 strands twisted
Collar, folded soft hackle hen, palmered, hook gap length
GlueCA or alcohol based adhesive
