Tuesday Meeting Agenda – TFF

Join us this Tuesday, October 27

Come early to tie flies (or tell some lies) and visit with your fellow members. The program starts at 7:00 p.m.

One of the questions I ask members is “What has been your favorite outing since you have been at TFF?”  I get some great answers – PINS, John Scarborough Sunfish Spectacular, Llano River, White Bass, there is never a shortage of answers because there have been many memorable trips over the years . . . . but I always get one answer which is “I don’t have a boat so I don’t really go.” or “I’m kinda new and I don’t know many people”.  Tuesday night we will fix that. We’ll go over the process for a non-boat owner to feel welcome and included (and catch more fish) and for the boat owner to make a new friend.

Agenda:

  • Upcoming Events
  • New Website Overview
  • New Program – Meet Me at the Dock
  • How to Get Invited to Fish if You Don’t Have a Boat
  • Top Ten Ways NOT to Get Invited Back
  • Questions a Boat Owner Does Not Want to Hear from Their Guest
  • Please note: audience participation encouraged, prizes may be given

Whether you own a boat or hope to be a guest aboard one, this meeting is for you!

See you Tuesday!

I strongly suggest we re-implement the yearly member name tags and lanyards. It:
    1. Makes us ” feel ” more organized
    2. Helps when mingling at events to see a name / face and SEE the interests and conveyance ownership ( boat / kayak)
    3. Helps the leadership ascertain attendance at events.
    4. Lastly, most serious clubs ( of all stripes) do something like this

  2. I prefer a clip-on and/or safety-pin name tag instead of a lanyard. Lanyard sometimes causes the name tag to turn around so it’s not showing.

    1. The lanyard is actually not important in my mind.
What is vital is the NAME TAG itself and the information it conveys for ( in my mind) all the reasons I cited, and then some.
