Benjamin Su and I went fishing for half a day, chasing reds in Greens Lake marsh off the polling skiff.
Date and Time: 10/23/2026, 8 am to 12 pm.
Location: Greens Lake marshes
Weather: warm, sunny, light wind north, changing to east
Water: warm, high, tinted, low visibility
Experience: We had to look for reds extensively; finally found some at the very back of the lake, west side. They were cruising in shallow nooks and crannies of the back marshes; tough to see and follow in the deep water.
Results: casted to 6, got 4 bites, landed one legit 20-inch fish. One took my fly, breaking 20 lb line (probably damaged on oyster reef); one managed to spit the fly out due to poor set; another took a bite but did not stay.
Summary: great day, enjoyable trip
