Three anglers made it to the Lavaca river. One in a kayak two in a very small boat. Water temperature was in the low 50’s. The weather was clear, and cool, about 40°F when we started, with no wind. Around noon the wind picked up and a drift sock would have been handy.
From 9 o’clock in the morning until 1 o’clock in the afternoon, there were 30 speckled trout landed on a fly. The Fly of the day was the Kreelex size 4, landing most of the fish. Sink tip fly line was easier to cast than the full sink that Puck likes.
