Report: FW OUTING: March 6-8, 2026,  Harmon Creek Campground and Marina

Fish were caught. Fun was had. Weather changed late Saturday afternoon,

7 anglers showed up early on Friday morning to get some fishing in before the anticipated weather change on Saturday afternoon.

We made it all the way upstream past the pumphouse and picked up a few fish. The weather was perfect, but the water temperature was already 75°F, about 10-15 degrees too warm for white bass on the fly.

Most of us were off the water by about 1400 hrs, and ready to check into our lodging.

Dinner was hot dogs cooked on the open fire, along with all kinds of sides.

Saturday morning was coffee at sunrise and on the water soon after.

A quick trip downstream to the bridge, exploring, and catching a few fish.

Then it was back upstream. A few went back to the pumphouse. Most stopped short of the tire farm.

Dinner Saturday was pulled pork sandwiches at the pavilion, where the shop used to be. With the drop in temperature, and the light rain, this was a perfect venue.
