Event: Damon 7 Lakes Fall Family Outing

Trip Description: Join us for our annual fall fun family fishing event on Saturday, November 8th, at Damon Seven Lakes. These crystal-clear lakes offer sight casting opportunities for bass, bluegill, catfish and more. All lakes are accessible by vehicle and/or on foot and the fall weather should make for great fishing. This is a great venue for kids and there will be members available to help with casting instruction if needed. Lunch at this event will be a “Bring your own”. Sign-up below.
(NOTE: There is an option to tent camp the night before, Friday, Nov 7th, at the Damon 7 Lakes)

Cost: $20 per adult if you sign up and pay in advance, $25 on the door. Kids are free.

About the area:  http://www.mjacompany.com/7lakes.html  “Damon’s Seven Lakes” is a beautiful one-of-a-kind private fishing club located in Damon, Texas just west of Highway 36 between Rosenburg and West Columbia. Contrary to the name there are now nine different, unique lakes of good size that hold largemouth bass, tiger bass, catfish, black crappie, and bluegill. Catching bass in the three to five pound range is a normal occurrence. Twelve-pound bass and channel cats and twelve-inch bream have been caught in the last two years.

Important items:

• Member dues are current!  Or you can pay your dues at this time.
• TFF Waiver of Liability, filled out and signed, along with emergency contact information.
• D7L Waiver of Liability – available at the front gate when you check in
• Extra change of dry clothes, for those with a habit of falling in
• Water and Snacks
• Wind and/or waterproof jacket
• Sunscreen and bug repellant
• Hat and polarized glasses – everything is sight fishing in the clear lakes

Recommended Equipment:

• Canoe, kayak, or kickboat, (These are not needed, but it is a good time to try stuff out)
• 3-7 wt fly rod with floating line
• Extra rod

Recommended Flies:

Most bass/sunfish flies can work, but here are some of the regulars favorites

• Yellow spider, size 6-12
• Miss Prissy or similar small popper
• BBB
• PGPP, size 8-12
• SOB, size 6-10
• Hare-E, size 10
• Squirrelly, size 12
• Dark Wooly bugger size 6-12

Recommended guidelines for participants:

• Notify the trip leader if you have any potential concerns
• If inexperienced, then buddy up.
• Have proper safety equipment
• If you are boating or kayaking, inform the trip leader of your float plan if planning to fish alone or longer than the designated times.
• Sign in and sign out at the roll-up door.
