Report: Pop-up fishing at Damon 7 Lakes, 2025-01-04

13 anglers made it to the water. Some fished from shore, others brought watercraft.

The light rain was a surprise, as the weather-guesser had told us the day before the we wouldn’t have rain. A light wind and no sun made for a pleasant day for January, and it was good to get outside for a few hours.

Fishing was slow, from start (0700) to finish (1600) but we still had fun. The weeds were in the process of dying off for the winter, so were very close to the surface.

Bluegill and LMB were the reported catches. I didn’t hear of any catfish or redear caught.

Flies of the day were mop flies, squiminators, small poppers, hare-e’s and a few others.
