I have been formally involved with Texas FlyFishers since 2016, when I moved to Houston from Alaska. In Alaska for 30+ years, most of my adult fishing has been chasing salmon, rainbows, arctic char, graying, and northern pike. The fly fishing experience was top tier, tying flies, building my own fly rod, and enjoying remote raft trips in unbelievable locations. (Class I to Class IV rivers all over the state) Since moving to Houston, I have embraced “warm water fishing”, both freshwater and saltwater. I now own a “pedal” kayak and put it to use every chance I get. In addition to the Texas area, I have also enjoyed testing the waters of Costa Rica, Argentina, Florida, and of course back to Alaska.
In addition to my role as Vice President, I am also the “Saltwater and Freshwater Outings Chairman”. What I lack in local knowledge I make up for in desire to learn (and participate). I am always open to new ideas for trips and new fishing locations.
Please take the opportunity to talk to me either at the monthly meetings or anytime via mobile phone. I am always up for a good “fish story”.
