MONTHLY MEETINGS: 530-8pm, Last Tues of the month. Trini Mendenhall Comm Center; CONTACT US via email: texasflyfishers@gmail.com WHY JOIN: Dedicated to the promotion of fly fishing education, conservation, and outdoors ethics. Detailed benefits below.
3.6 miles travelled. 4 fish brought to hand. Puck only landed one. John the rest.
Couldn’t have asked for better January weather. Left the house and it was 42°F but warmed up to mid-60’s by 1100. Wind was between 5-12 mph from the east, making some of my favorite areas unfishable.
Between the rain a few days ago and the dredging operations the water was more off-color than I was expecting for January.
Only fish that came to hand were flounder, on fly and soft plastic. I was hoping to land a sheepshead, but the area that I like was in the dredging zone.
Please call me as curious as to where this trip is.
Thank you

The fly of the day was Jesse’s skinny crack.
