For the first time in over a year, the club will be returning to an in-person format for the September monthly meeting which will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Importantly, the meeting will be at a new location which is the Trini Mendenhall-Community Center (1414 Wirt Road).  Information regarding the center can be located at: https://www.pct3.com/Community-Centers/Mendenhall-Community-Center

For this special meeting the club will be presenting a great speaker; Mark Marmon who will be making a presentation titled “Innovative Fly Patterns”.

Mark Marmon operates Metro Anglers http://www.metroanglers.com/metroanglers/Metro_Anglers.html has been fly fishing for over 40 years and has been instructing casting for more than 18 years. Mark developed the “Urban Fly Fishing” opportunities in and around Houston, Texas over the past 22 plus years and has also been guiding on the Guadalupe River in central Texas for more than 10 years. Additionally, Mark has fly fished over most of the western United States, Caribbean, Mexico and Iceland, is an experienced fly tyer and currently holds one International Game Fish Association World Record and along with nine Texas State Fly Fishing/Water Body records.

In addition to his on-the-water experience, Mark is a past board member of the Texas Fly Fishers’ Club, Houston, Vice-President of Fisheries for the Guadalupe Chapter of Trout Unlimited and is a founding Board Member of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Federation of Fly Fishers. He also is a Certified Casting Instructor and member of the Guide’s Association along with being a fellow member of IGFA.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome at the meeting. Mark is not only a fine guide, angler and instructor, he is also a talented speaker. You will not want to miss this presentation.
