The club usually does not have a monthly meeting in December as the Annual Christmas party serves as the December monthly meeting. However, given the issues created by the Covid-19 Virus, in lieu of the Christmas party, a special monthly meeting will be held, via zoom technology, on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. You won’t want to miss the meeting as we have a great speaker lined up for the meeting. Our speaker for this special meeting will be Alejandro Hernandez from Cappeche Tarpon https://campechetarpon.com.

Tarpon, the silver king, is on the bucket-list of many anglers. Tarpon of 30 pounds or less are considered babies and are sometimes also referred to as Mangrove Tarpon. These tarpon generally live in warm shallow waters along the coast of tropical areas such as creeks, river mouths and residential canals and are considered by many to be one of the most exciting species to be caught by an angler on a fly rod.

Campeche offers some of the finest and most consistent fishing for Juvenile & Baby Tarpon in the world and our speaker, Alejandro Hernandez, will be telling us all about this type of fly fishing.

So, if you are interested in learning about fly fishing for baby tarpon or just want to hear more about the fly fishing culture, look for your e mail from club Secretary, Eric Richardson or Membership Chairman, Bob Brill with details about joining the zoom meeting.
