2 of us made the trip to Burkeville, TX to fish the generation canal: Sabine River, generation canal
We were on the water and fishing by sunrise, ~0630. Using a 5wt and a 6wt we immediately started catching fish.
The temperature started comfortable, with just a few vampires, but quickly warmed up as the sun came over the trees.
Largemouth bass, Kentucky bass, white bass, bluegill, and yellow sunfish all came to hand. The topwater bite was explosive and almost constant all morning.
Over a hundred fish came to hand before we had to leave the water. Generation started at high noon, forcing us to leave.
The flies of the day were: VIP, bendbacks, yellow spiders, C-ants, and a few others.
I should have taken more pictures.
