Monthly Meeting Speaker January 28, 2020; Chuck Naiser

Chuck has been fishing the coast for over 40 years and poling the flats guiding fly-fishing anglers since 1993. He is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished and revered fly-fishing guides in Texas.

Chuck’s reputation and guiding prowess have attracted the attention of several prestigious clients that sought his fishing expertise. He has guided George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Chico Fernandez, Jose Wejebe, and Nolan Ryan to name few.

In addition to his fishing acumen, Chuck has been an avid proponent in coastal conservation. He is a former vice-president of the Gulf Coast Conservation Association (GCCA) – now known as CCA.

Additionally, Chuck has been at the forefront of The FlatsWorthy movement, an organization spearheaded by a noble group of anglers with the ambitious goal of promoting boating courtesy among all who enjoy our shallow bays.

Finally, Chuck’s fishing knowledge and skill, advancement of saltwater fly-fishing and promotion of coastal conservation were rewarded in 2011 when he was inducted into the Perry R. Bass Memorial Sports Fishing Wall of Fame. This prestigious award cemented Chuck’s lifelong love of saltwater fishing and efforts to promote its advancement in Texas.

So, if you are interested in learning more about the fly fishing world, if you are interested in watching some fly tying before the meeting or are just interested in socializing with a friendly group of fly fishing men and women come to the January 28, 2020 monthly meeting.  We would be glad to have you and look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

  1. My husband loves fishing and he would like to get into fly fishing. Is this meetup open to the public to learn more about fly fishing?
