Trip Description: Fish Lake Raven Fri and/or Sat, or both. Campsite is reserved if you would like to camp overnight. Bass and perch. Very nice, small, non-motorized lake.

Start Time: I will be at the boat ramp at 630am both Fri and Sat to launch. The Huntsville St Park (Lake Raven) boat ramp is easy to find…well marked. Park gate opens at 6 am.

End Time: I have reserved a Shelter/camp site for Fri and Sat night. Come and go as it fits your schedule.

Trip Description: Kayak/Canoe trip.

I have reserved a Shelter site (S018) at Huntsville St Park for Fri and Sat nights. (July 12-13) My plan is to fish Friday and Sat, and overnight on both Friday and Sat. Fish in the morning/afternoon on both Fri and Sat….explore the whole lake. You can come Fri, Sat, or both….either spend the night, or just join for the day. Your option.

The Shelter can accommodate “tent cots”. I will set up my tent on the outside grounds. The site permit allows for eight (8) people. If more are interested, I will reserve individual tent sites and we can use the “shelter” as a common area. I am thinking of a “pot luck” type dinner on Sat (possible also Fri) if there is enough interest.

We made an earlier trip in May, and had good luck early in the morning from 7-10am. (weather turned and had to get off the lake at 11) The lake holds large bass and perch. (and has been known to be home to a couple of alligators) Fishing can be really good; it can also be very slow. Best time is early in the morning. The campground and lake are very nice…it is a good paddle.

Cost: $7 payable to the park upon entrance, plus $10 to me if plan to spend the night (s).
