White Oak Bayou Fish-Off and FWP’s Happy Trails and Hot Dogs Scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd 2018
By popular demand the WOB Fish-Off  was resurrected last year and we are going to do it again.  This event will be held in conjunction with Friends of Woodland Park’s Happy Trails and Hot Dogs event.


Trophies will be awarded to the Biggest, Ugliest and Most Unusual fish caught in the White Oak Bayou.

Other awards will include Little Angler Trophies, Best Fish Lips; Best One That Got Away Story; Biggest trash item pulled from the White Oak Bayou.
There were activities for the children, trail tours and free Hot Dogs for all!

Saturday June 2nd
Woodland Park, 212 Parkview (off Houston Avenue)
8 – 9 am sign in
11 am fish turn in
12:30 pm judge announcements

  1. I don’t remember us ever doing a WOB Fishoff? Are you talking about the time we went fishing for Carp with Benjamin from Orvis? Are there rules? Just to let you know the Bayou is heavily over grown right now. Don’t know when it will be cut either. Last time I was down (two weeks ago) I saw at least six water moccasins. Maybe it is not safe to walk the banks right now. If this event is only down at that park fishing for three eyed mullet, carp ect., oh well. But this sounds interesting. Please get more information. I’ll send out a blast to the folks who we saw at the show.
