I don’t plan to send the E-vite out, but the Evite Link  is active.   Please use it, as it makes it easier for me to track. $25/person to reserve your spot in a cabin.  River conditions need to be checked a few days before the event.

Trip Description:  See below…

Day 1: The first meeting of the trip will be at:  South Llano River RV Park, 210 Cedar Creek Road  –  Junction, Texas 76249

We’ll kayak  this area getting our casting skills honed, and practicing with various flies.  Bratwurst Hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill for dinner at our camp.

Day 2:

Option 1 (preferred) Launch from second crossing US-377 down to KC150.
Start:  30.362156, -99.889391  End:  30.393194,-99.881807

Second Crossing downstream

Second Crossing downstream to KC150

Option 2 (easier to do) Launch from just downstream of the State park with our livery service, and float down to our camping site.
Start: 30.450064, -99.812849   End: 30.483076, -99.761551

Option 3 (too hard  to do) Launch from KC150 to just downstream of the State park for pick-up with a livery service.  There are now 3 portages on that route, and the good fishing just isn’t worth all the aggravation. .
Start: 30.453476, -99.791993  End: 30.483076, -99.761551

Livery is still an open subject.
Pot luck dinner Saturday night.  Pizza from the new local pizza place at wherever we are staying.  We will have to coordinate this with the campground as the Pizza place closes at 2000 hrs.

Day 3:

Option 1:  First crossing bridge where the river crosses US 377.  We will fish downstream to the second crossing.  This time I will bring a GPS.

Option 2:  Low water crossing to the campgrounds.  Probably the easiest logistically.

NOTES:

  1. Option 2 should be discounted. The last 45 minutes is a flat, unproductive and boring paddling experience.

  2. NO air mattresses! Both air mattresses brought last year went flat.
If we run out of beds on this event, bring cots.

And if you notice, we have a better feel for how many beds, etc. that we have available. You sign up for a bed, that if the one you get. No guesswork this year.

  3. Cabins “A” and “B” do not have toilets or showers in the room, but they are very private, perfect for couples.

  3. As of 2018-03-19-1900 we have the 2 private cabins open, and one other bunk. I made contact today, just to make sure we are still locked. Our contact was out of the office, but will call me back when she gets back.
