Our speaker for the Tuesday, September 26, 2017 monthly meeting will be Joe Deforke. The title of Joe’s presentation will be: “Fly Fishing 101 for West Galveston Bay”.
Joe is a long time club member who lives on West Galveston bay and has been fishing those bay waters for decades. Joe will be discussing the habitat of the bay, locations which hold various species of game fish, flies to use, gear to use and other topics related to fishing West Galveston bay by boat, kayak or by just wading.
So, if you are interested in learning about fly fishing the convenient waters of West Galveston Bay, watching some fly tying before the meeting or just socializing with a friendly group of fly fishing men and women come to the September 26, monthly meeting. We would be glad to have you and look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

I doubt we will be able to get the presentation recorded and put on the web site; although, the idea of creating some type of recording is not yet out of the question. In any event, though, we should at least be able to make some notes of the presentation. So, first of all, enjoy your trip to Belize. When you get back, catch up with me at the next meeting or send another comment and I’ll let you know what we came up with in terms of recording or making notes; Joe’s presentation about West Galveston Bay should be a good one. Ryan, we made a digital recording of the presentation. We will hopefully get it posted on the web site. If not, I can just give you the recorder, which is about the size of a flash drive, & you can attach it to a USB for your computer & listen to it from there. So, keep an eye on the web site & if the recording does not appear within a few weeks get back to me so that we can arrange to get the recorder to you.
