Oil Spill in Galveston Bay
« on: March 23, 2014, 10:01:18 AM »

For those who may not have heard, there was a barge collision in Galveston Bay yesterday that has released an, as yet unknown, amount of marine fuel oil into the bay. The barge was carrying a million gallons but only one tank is believed to have spilled.

Yep - just read a report which stated the damaged compartment has a capacity of 4k barrels, or 168,000 gallons. Also metioned two people treated for hydogen sulfide inhalation. The report said the barge is partially sunken and is carrying bunker fuel, which is typically used as a fuel for marine engines.

Hoping for a very quick recovery, cleanup, and no environmental damage.
Is that a strike indicator or a bobber?
