SCOTT ARE YOU STAYING OUT ON THE ISLAND?  IF SO WE'LL MAKE SURE THERE ARE A FEW OTHERS OUT THERE WITH YOU.  WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THERE IS A BOAT OUT ON THE ISLAND IF THERE ARE PEOPLE STAYING OUT THERE. JUST IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES.

JOHN P. SAYS HE WANTS TO HIT THE DEEP BLUE WATER WITH YOU BEFORE SUN UP. KINGS AND LINGS BABY! CAN'T YOU HEAR THE DINNER BELL RINGING????

I WILL BE GOING TO POC AND ARANSAS PASS THIS NEXT WEEKEND. I WILL MAKE SURE THE WAHOO IS IN GOOD SHAPE IF WE NEED HER. ALSO GOING DOWN TO PICK UP THE MUY GUAPO! IT'S TIME FOR HER FACE LIFT.

Guys, if you are planning on going, please get signed up! I have 9 names so far, but I know more of you have spoken about going. Unless you sign on this website, I can't  consider you for boat & room assignments. If you are having trouble signing up here, contact both Dave Kelley about access and me to let me know to add you to the list.

Mike

Despite your extensive and persuading email advertising campaign for this trip I am afraid I cant go...although I did attempt to obtain a kitchen pass. I will be away on a work trip to the middle east the week before and the response from the Minister for War & Finance when I submitted my application was less than positive.

On a good note the hospital bills were cheaper this time round....

I will be on the Fence lake trip though

Cheers
Matt

I'm staying on island sat night.
Suggestion to captains is to bring both a bow & stern anchor.

Due to the death of my mother and the need to help my father liquidate her belongings and move in with Tracy & me, there is a strong possibility that I will not be able to make this trip. In my absence, Mike Graham has been gracious enough to fill in.

I'm signed in. I have my release form filled out & on my desk, can bring to the Tuesday mtg?

I can probably stay on the island. I have a generator, but haven't turned it on in a while. I'll see if I can get it cranked this weekend.

Does anyone want to carpool down there? Does anyone have a 10-12 weight outfit that I can borrow, just in case?

Bob

I WILL BE AT THE ORVIS HAPPY HOUR TONIGHT. SEE ME THERE AND WE'LL DISCUSS THIS TRIP.

I WILL SEND OUT ANOTHER BLAST BUT I'M NOT GETTING TOO MANY TAKERS...THAT'S WEIRD!

HERE WE HAVE A PLACE TO STAY...PLENTY OF BOATS...AND THE BIG FISH ARE ACTIVE OUT AT THE JETTIES.

I WAS IN POC THIS PAST WEEKEND AND THE WATER WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. I CAUGHT SOME GOOD FISH TOO. GOOD AS IN DELICIOUS!

I'll have to miss out, once again.

I will be on a river that day.

Change of plans.

I'm in!

To fish, or not to fish?  What a stupid question!

My wife and my dad are both insisting that I go, though I am not certain I should.  I guess tentatively, I am in.

Well we made it down to POC with high hopes this past weekend. We hit Cathy's for supper on Friday and planned our attack for the next morning. We met up at Clark's to launch and mounted up our rides. Unfortunately, a certain club officer neglected a very important concept....boats don't float well without their drain plugs! After a few sheepish looks and a few minutes to get himself re-situated, we set forth for the jetties. The conditions were beautiful, with light breezes and nice water. We worked some bird flocks but didn't find any takers. A few of us hit the shore just east of the jetties and found a few schools of ladyfish which provided entertainment for awhile. We then moved to the jetties proper, but couldn't find any takers. The boats spread out over the POC area and fished various spots (Greens, Lighthouse, etc), but no one could find the magic fly that was working. Finally, after many hours of limited (at best) success, we returned to our condo for lies and libations. The next morning, several boats went out and it would appear they did have some success, but this reporter had to head back to Katy to tend to personal business.

A big thank you to all the boat captains for allowing us aboard and a thanks to Golden for helping me pull this one together during a tough personal time. Chris S will be co-ordinating the Fence Lake trip and I will be back in the saddle for the POC One-Fly.

Tight lines and most importantly, be safe!

MFQ aka Wormdrowner
