Joe

Not yet.   I am hoping for the weekend before Thanksgiving (the 22).

We are still looking for a leader for this one.  I had a couple of "almost volunteers" but nothing set in stone yet.

I will tentatively lead this one. We need to see about coordinating with the Louisiana marsh trip. The outings will be the 15th & 22nd of November. Just depends on stocking, schedules, etc.

Right now we have tentatively set the date for November 15th. My fear is that the river will not have been stocked by then. The 22nd is the Louisiana outing and I don't want to schedule this the same weekend.

It seems we have three options:

a) Keep it on the 15th and hope to Hades that they stock fish.
b) Do it the Thanksgiving weekend. By Friday night you will so sick of your guests that you will do anything to get out of the house.
c) Make it the November outing in December and have it December 6th.

I'd like to start preliminary work on this, so please give me your thoughts on dates if you are interested in going.

I like option "C" even though I don't plan on making this one.   8)

Dec 5th.  If GRTU stocks early it will probably be on 11-15.

Rumor I have heard is that the stocking will be the weekend of the 22nd. Should be good to go on the 6th then.

The GRTU lease permits went on sale 1 October. They are very handy to increase access to the river. Keep in mind that most of the river's banks are private property and so are the parking lots. A pass opens up quite a bit more of the river.
