Trip Description: Trip Description: This Freshwater Outing is to the Mountain Forks River near Broken Bow, Oklahoma, about a 6 hour drive from Houston.  This trip is an excellent opportunity for those new to freshwater fly fishing, or those wishing to hone their skills on some of the best nearby trout water.  Note that you will have to travel to Broken Bow on Thursday night to participate in the full program.  Lodging in Broken Bow and all meals are to be provided by the participants.  Information on lodging has been posted below in the post titled "Accommodations for the 2014 February Outing"  It is very affordable either in Broken Bow or near the entrance to the State Park.

Of course, time not spent learning about the area and its buggy residents are open for fishing on your own, and you may elect to arrive early or stay late to get in some extra time on the river.  For this reason, experienced fly fisherman should also consider this trip.

Topic is unlocked.

I copied last year's trip plan and only modified it slightly.

It still needs to be cleaned up.

From talking with last year's trip leader.

Due to the cost and the travel involved, this will be a bi-annual trip.

This means that we will skip 2014, and go in 2015.

This doesn't mean that a bunch of can't get together and make a trip up, but we won't have it as well organized as it was last year.
