WTB a 10 wt ??
« on: September 03, 2013, 09:37:33 AM »
I will be buying a 10 weight before Christmas.

Skip is loaning me one for PINS later this month, and Nilo has approved my purchase of one.

I prefere a much slower action than most of the club.  I'm just too lazy of a caster for the extremely fast rods.

Suggestions are welcome.

Or if you have one you are willing to let me "try before buy" let me know.

To fish, or not to fish?  What a stupid question!

Puck,
I have a 12 wt that I built in Joe Nicklo class. If you have a reel or buy the one Mike Arnold has for sale then you can take it to the PINs trip.

I also have 2 extra 12 wt fly lines one a floating line and the other a sink tip/floating.

So if you have reel, welcome to use the lines.

Joe,

I have the reel, and spare spool. Have you cast the rod yet?

I'll get in touch before PINS.

A slow rod for Puck is a buggy whip. I cast one of his rods before and could eat a sandwich between the back cast & forward cast.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO slow that it took me an hour to make three casts with out any double hauling. :o

Take a shot with my 10wt Helios. It is light as a feather and is not much effort to cast. Not slow but it easy to cast.
