Getting ready for Tarpon on fly
« on: August 12, 2013, 07:53:59 PM »
I went to POC thinking I would try for a jack or bull red on fly. Didn't happen.. but did get this tarpon on live croaker in 40 feet at POC jetty with Curtiss Cash aka Lowtide Guide Service. I did get a feel for what fighting a tarpon is like.
Estimated 90 lbs.

Next step...   Fly rod...    ;).

I've never hooked a tarpon, but plan to one day.

To fish, or not to fish?  What a stupid question!

I put up post on 2Cool under Texas Tarpon. Another boat out there took some pictures of me fighting the fish. I will try to post.
