I'm busy Saturday, but I'm going out Sunday. Can someone pull up a Google map of Fort Anahuac Park and place a couple dots showing me some good places to go wading?

Tight lines, punks! Enjoy Saturday

Have you wondered around the map on the home page of where our members have fished?

Go east o n I 10.................. Cross the Trinity River. Start looking for roads south. Back in the 60's 70's my dad, my uncle and I fished this area.

Not too far from the river are some abandoned gravel pits filled with salt / brackish  water. we caught fish there.

On east on 10, turn south at Winnie. Lots of roads back to shore line or wild life refuges or parks.

On a google map take a stroll around the shore line of East Bay and Trinity Bay. You will find lots of access points. Bac
k when I fished this area the shore was wadable.

Might be fun.  Can the club spring for something?

I'll bring enough sandwish fixings (turkey, ham, cheese, mustard, bread, etc) and chips for those that sign up by tomorrow.

I hope the weather holds out.  Also, any thoughts on how runoff from the Trinity will affect things?

If they opened the gates at Livingston we could have more fresh water that salt.  I'll ask Rene D. if he can check the salt content.

Don,

I stopped at the park yesterday evening at 4:30 tasted the water it was fairly salty not strong, the water look good not murky

Tasted the water? Wow... that's pretty hard core.

Be careful where you do that, particularly if you're fishing with Golden - check out the sign on the fence!

Hoping the weather forecast improves; I'm thinking light winds NNE and slightly salty flavored water!

Cheers... George

Cool site for current conditions. I looked at Morgans point at 7:00 AM Thursday 10-17. North wind at 11 knots.

Anahuac as of 12:20 Today

Saturday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 79. North wind 10 to 15 mph.

I'll talk to everyone at Orvis tonight and post on here what the plan is.

An alternative is to go to Louie's off of Hwy 6 in Dickinson. It might be a bit more sheltered from the wind.    Thoughts?

Geared up my Ride 115 using the track system. Added rudder, pole for poling and anchoring, fly rod holder on track, and Ram ball on track system for GPS. all from a visit to ACK on Bissonett. Talked to Brock about the club and wants to join.

I might have to bail. I thought my flight got home at 5:30 Friday but it actually leaves at 5:30 and I won't get home until almost midnight.

Sorry, I gust got in town tonight, I had to return my boat back to factory for repairs down at Port Isabel.. Should be ready at end of Oct.
I will not be out this weekend.   The weather is not to favorable.  I fished Lavaca River today and it was slow.. my friend caught a 27 " red and two 3lb trout...
Good Luck tomorrow.
