Mike and I made it to D7Ls by 0900, and started exploring an area that held large bass that were biting on topwaters yesterday. We had a couple of good hits, but no hook-ups.
We were run off the water, for a while, by some lightling in the distance. Aftter our break, we were back on the water trying for anything that would bite. Mike showed me how to hook bluegill using a 1wt fly rod.
When we were waiting out the next rainfall, a guest and his family showed up. Mike, be the couteous host, offered to take him around on his golf cart, because the rain had made the roads slick. I followed on the other cart. As we got to the bend of Duck Lake Mike's cart ran out of power.
A quick tow back to the shop, and Mike had another guest waiting.
The fish were not biting as well as we could have hoped, but the getting outside and visiting with friends made this a memorable trip.
