I was at D7Ls today and the bass were hitting topwater.

The bug I was using will probably spook these bayou bass, but it would be fun trying.

Ok.  I'll bite.  What happened?  This group is rarely silent.

Dave Kelly put up my pics on the home page. There were some small bass and perch caught. Puck caught a talipia and has a picture. Figure that one was sent down the toilet ::) We had a good time BS ing at the Citgo Station and had some decent BBQ and cold brews. Interesting seeing the flood plan around White Oak Bayou and all the empty lots and golf course. There were a few die hard people living in homes near the bayou.

Only had one fish flash at my offerings. Saw more water snakes than you can shake a 5 wt at. Thankfully, I saw no water moccassins. Puck seemed to have the hot hand. After lunch, those that remained moved down to the old Inwood Forest gold course. I had to leave early as I had an obligation that evening to "The Leader of the Opposition" and her family.

Wish the grass would have been cut back, but I think a good time was had by all.  Thanks to Golden for putting it together.

Hope to see y'all down at Sargent this weekend!

Puck, you gave me a fly Sat that I think you called a "harry".  I did not get even a bite with it Sat.  Well, I went back late Sunday and tried the"harry" again.  I caught half a dozen sun fish a 12" bass and this big guy.  You can see the fly in the corner of his mouth.  Thanks for the fly.

I'm glad it worked for you.

I'll try to post up the recipe later this week. Along with the squirrely.

That was a good trip.  I'll try to get some photos in later this wek also.  I have one or 2 that may have turned out.

I never did get a good one of SGT Noshoulders.

Joe French at our first stop.  Notice how good the water looks, and then look at his surroundings.  And yes, there were fish there.
