WELL SO FAR THE RAIN HAS BEEN FALLING STEADY BUT NOT TORRENTIAL, WHICH IS A GOOD THING.  THIS RUNOFF SHOULD ONLY TAKE ABOUT THREE TO FOUR DAYS TO CLEAR UP. LETS HOPE WE DON'T GET ANOTHER SOAKER BEFORE NEXT WEEK! DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF WE CAN CONTACT ALEX IN IRELAND NEXT WEEK WHILE HE'S PUB JUMP'N?  COULD BE THE CONVERSATION OF THE YEAR! WITH THIS RAIN THE WEEDS WILL REALLY BE A PROBLEM, IF YOU ARE SMART BRING A LAWN MOWER OR A WEED EATER. I'LL CHECK TO SEE IF THE SUPERFUND GUYS HAVE CLEARED THE DITCH TOO.

Here is a good link to monitor the White Oak Bayou save in your favs - nice to have.  The gauge is at the bridge at Alabonson just north of West Little York.

Check out the site above I gave you to monitor the flow of the White Oak.  She went over 7000 cubic feet today.  Usual runoff is around 40 cubic feet!  Hopefully no fronts for the rest of the week and we should be OK for next Saturday.

And if the water is running too high, Mike has invited everyone over to his place to raid his icebox and beer cooler........right, Mike?  ;D

I just talked to Mike this evening. His computer is fried, so he can't get online at all. If you need to discuss this outing or the Saltwater Prison Permit one, please call him. We are still meeting at the Citgo at the corner of Hollister & W Little York at 9 AM. There is room for everyone who is interested in joining us, so come on out!

Golden called and said he did a little recon fishing today. The water is coming down nicely and should be pretty good by Saturday. Still not crystal clear yet. He got two fish today. One thing he did want me to emphasize is that the grass has gotten high along the banks and he strongly recommends long pants. He did see a snake or two today, including a very large water moccassin, so snake leggings/ray guards and boots would be a VERY good idea. Hope to see everyone Saturday!

Puck with laryngitis is pretty pathetic  :(

Put a fly rod in Golden's hand and he'll forget what a keyboard is.....

Mike's been throwing some gaudy green and orange thing with a cone head. I'm planning to bring a few woolly buggers, (black with some flash), some crawfish looking' things (orange), a few streamers and poppers. Just want to be able to cover the water column, with the rains there may be some depth. Bead heads might be useful, as Golden has been drawing strikes by bouncing along the many rocks. I'm sure he'd tell you that if he could salvage his computer.

Actually I'm just going to bring a bunch of stuff and keep throwing.

Also a cooler of beer...must stay hydrated.
