I will be in Port Aransas during the month of April volunteering at UTMSI.  Previous attempts to fish the TX coast have been lacking.  I would really like to met someone who can be mentor and guide, at least enough for me to get started.  Chris Sumers has gotten me started on flies, equipment, and some locations and maps to acquire.  Kathy and I have done some kayaking and would enjoy doing some to and from fishing sites.  We fish the FL Panhandle in Oct and use flies 6 thru 2.  Are these good sizes for TX?  Thanks for your help.

Go to the Texas Kayak fisherman web page and post on the fly fishing secton and you should get plenty of help.

If you are intrested in a guide look up Dean @ Slowride Guide service. He is a realy nice guy, guides hard and will put you on fish. Dean does kayak fly fishing.
