I've volunteered to take over as the leader for this outing. Please reply to the post if you are intersted. The lodge is still planning on us, but we need a bunch more people. Tell your friends and get them signed up.
Thanks
Aaron

I'm still in!
Are we going to invite some of our buds from the other FF clubs?

Spoke with Capt'n Bruce today...there seems to be plenty of people going. Who's flying and who's driving. I will be going but would rather ride as I have a friend who has a house down there and I might stay over several more days and drive back with him...if we don't catch all the fish! I will also be taking some conventional tackle incase conditions warrant doing so. I'm not traveling all the way down there to have 25mph winds keep me from being effective.

Thanks for the questions. hey aaron,
got some q's for you
1) is every person who signs up put on a guide boat? and what kind of boat poling skiff or shallow sport type boat?
Yes, everyone will be on a guide boat. It should be 2 per boat.
2) if not, do we need to bring our own boats and they will tell us where to go??
If you want to bring your own boat, taht is definitely an option you have.
3) how many dudes/boat???
Should be 2. I need to know ASAP so Bruce can book boats. email me "hammer51" at "gmail.com"
4) if my dad wants to join, is it fly only or can he sight cast with conventional?
That's not a problem at all. I just need to know soon.
5) can i just drink beer and sleep in?? who am i kidding, i fish with hangovers.
Always an option.
ryan
ps i am another younger guy who shows up every once in a blue moon.
Ah, yes, I know who you are. Hope you can make it.

I missed your question about boat type. I'm not sure, but last time they had both. If you have a preference, I can try to accomodate that. I really need to know by Wednesday.
PS. Since we were slow getting our act together and getting people signed up, the lodge is overbooked. No worries, though Bruce often handles very large groups (up to 70 people). Everyone can eat and party at the lodge, just some of us might have to sleep at a house.
Also, yes you can drink beer and sleep in.
To answer Golden's question. I'm flying, but I think most the other guys have aid they are driving. I booked today for $117 with taxes and everything included on Continental. I'm going to rent a car. I'll email the crew and get details.

I'm in...can you post a list of the TFF'ers going? Like I said I'd like to arrange a ride down and back with someone already going. I want to fish the flats one day and fish near shore/jetties/front beach one day. NO OFFSHORE ME...For I'm THE HURLER! I will be taking 8 and 10 wts. plus conventional trout rod and Lt.tackle. Here is who I was told was going so far. Aaron H., Joe Flowers, Puck +1, John Purcell, Jim Lattice, Rod H., Jerry Loring, plus myself. I'm sure that I have left off some of you guys cause when I talked to Captn. Bruce it seems he said more than this nine. Looking forward to a good trip, good food, and good fun! How about Chris Sumers, Ray Rus, Dennis Auger, John Carpenter, Jack Klinger, Scott Folsum, and the rest of you 'ole salts? U guys coming or do you have to sort your socks that weekend.

No weekends, or other time, off until mid-September. Work schedule has changed again.
I'll call Bruce and arrange for my deposit to be used then.

What day is everybody going down... the dates are indicated as Aug. 21 -24 thats Friday thru Monday. Are we going down Thursday nite or arriving on Fri and fishing thru Monday? Please let us know. I'm still looking for a ride or I can drive if someone want to share expenses. My truck gets almost 24 moile to the gallon (diesel). I think John P. is going to drive but I think he is full already. Let me know soon! Chris...I heard that the Galveston Tarpon Tomorrow tourney got skunked...is that true? The report I got from Alford thru KT was that no tarpon were caught anywhere up and down the Texas coast. Sabine, Galveston, Freeport, POC, Port Aransas, or Port Mansfield all reported the ZERO. I hope it turns about 180 cause that's what I'll be doing next Sat too.

Hi Mike, I've been bad about checking the board. We now have 8 guys going. I just sent an email to the crew. Go down sometime during the day Friday and arrive late afternoon-evening Friday night. Rod and I are flying; other than that, I think everyone is driving.
Email if you have questions.
Thanks Aaron

Chris...I heard that the Galveston Tarpon Tomorrow tourney got skunked...is that true? I wouldn't say that, Mike. If memory serves, I vaguely remember something about fishing on a boat that brought home First Tarpon / Am, Most Tarpon / Angler and Amateur Champion...but, then again, that might have been a dream. Follow these links to be sure... http://2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/showthread.php?t=226273http://2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/showthread.php?t=226062Now, on to POC.
