Outing Information Only / Re: Chocolate Bayou - May 30 - Cancelled
« on: May 27, 2015, 06:52:15 PM »
Due to the huge influx of fresh water, it has been decided that the outing at Chocolate Bayou is cancelled. Bill Leary, the outing leader, is trying to find a suitable area to fish instead. Watch this thread for updates.

Make a run across WB and fish the SLP flats. S/B okay.

Thanks Joe, but the Platinum isn't compatible with the fishfinders on my boats.  Of course, at the rate I'm going, I may just put a gps/fishfinder on a wheelchair.........

You are right, Mike. I think that's what makes this club special is the great people who are members.

Highly doubtful. This is primarily a kayak trip, though stranger things have happened.

I'll join you, but you may have to carry me from spot to spot.

How about if I bring a rickshaw?

How soon until the boat is sea-worthy?

General Discussion / Navionics Plus chip
« on: May 19, 2015, 04:37:19 AM »
I have been kicking around the idea of picking up a Navionics Plus chip to use in my boats. I like the versatility of using in both fresh & salt.  Of course, I'm not quite as concerned about bottom structure as a conventional angler would be, but I can see times where is would be handy.  The main objective would be improving the charting on my Lowrance units (Elite 7 HDI & Elite 5 DSI). I also will be using at least the freshwater boat for some conventional fishing on occasion.

Any thoughts, feedback etc?

I need a trip leader for this one.  Don has to drop due to his surgery being moved back. I would lead myself, but I won't be healed up from my surgery by then.  Please let me know if you can help us out!
