Well, Jack, John, Joe & I got there around 7ish only to find out that the tournament was postponed until the spring! ???  We decided to launch anyways only to find that part of the bay was seriously kicked up from the NE wind. After about 10 minute, we bailed out and went over to Louie's to launch.  We tried the north shore grass flats of West Bay, but didn't see a thing. The weather morons predicted 10 mph NE winds. Let's try 15-20 instead! Finally, we decided that lunch at Louie's was a better proposition and pulled the boats. Tough day, but glad to get out on the water anyways.

We moved the Redfish Rodeo to the first weekend, with the second weekend as a back-up. The weekend before Thanksgiving (11/22 - 11/24) would work nicely.

Registration starts at 5:30 at Latitudes 1817 Ave K, San Leon 77539.

Looks like Team Texas FlyFishers be Joe & Mike in one boat and Jack & me the other. If 4 more get together between now & Sat, we can field a second team. I will call Mike, Joe & jack on Thursday evening to set up meeting places, etc.

The Redfish Rodeo has been moved to November 9th due to conflicts with other fly fishing events and conflicts with numerous fishermen.

C'mon fellas! We only have Jack, Puck & myself signed up as of 9/5/13 at 12:30 PM. We need a whole lot more participation to make this a success.

With Jack's boat, that opens it up for more people.  I'll get more details posted in the next 48 hrs. Sorry I haven't been as on top of this as I s/h/b, but I've been inundated at the office. I s/b at Orvis tonight for a bit.

Dunno if I'll be there or not. Depends on how tomorrow goes at the office. Fiscal Year closes at EOM. Busy time of year.

I believe we have 4 (Parvon, Joe French, Golden, me).  I'd like to see at least another foursome. C'mon fellas!

Just about every Thursday at Orvis, there is a get together of fly fishers, many of whom are club members. Too bad you missed our club meeting on Tuesday. Come check out the next one in September!

Why does your dog have olives for eyes? Have you been playing "fetch the martini" again?  :o

As many of your know, on May 31st, four HFD firefighter died in a fire on the Southwest Freeway, not too far from where we have our meetings.  In addition, several firemen were injured and have incurred major medical bills, not to mention other family hardships. Prior to this,  the HFD Softball team had scheduled a fishing tournament to raise money for their team. After the tragedy, they decided that ALL funds raised would go towards helping these brave souls and their families.

Golden & I are trying to get at least a couple of teams, if not a whole division of fly fishers to participate in this event. The cost is $200/team of 4. We would also like to propose that the club consider helping to defray the costs of the teams.  I have attached the original flyer with the details (pre-May31). Remember, the money is going to help the firemen and their families, not the softball team.

Please post your thoughts/interest here. We will need to get the teams together rather quickly, so we need to get an idea of the interest ASAP!
