Well, we can't do next weekend as it's the Fly Tying Festival.  The next feasible weekend would be the 8th and there's no guarantee about the weather.

Right now, Bridge City is showing sunny and 56 for tomorrow.  Yes, we may encounter shallow water conditions, but that's pretty typical of winter fishing.

I'm fine with postponing it until then if that's what everyone would like to do.

Please let me know what you think and I'll make the call by 5 pm today. Hell, the worst case scenario is we all meet at Denny's, have breakfast and decide to scrub it then.

Kulcak Lodge is Full with 10 folks for Friday night!
Wallace Lodge has 6 staying over Friday Night.

This notice was updated as of February 27th at 4:30 pm.   As we get a little closer, we'll also try to assign lodging, if necessary. Besides Alan's place, Bill W. has been gracious enough to offer spot at his house as well. I will post an update late next week.  If you remember last year the fishing down at Bill's was excellent under the lights.

Of course we are going to have Friday Night's Dinner at the same place as last year.  Mike Q. will make all the necessary arrangements. We'll need a head count soon.  Make sure you sign up.  The word is out on the street and the pot lickers are starting to line up outside!   :o

MK & S Donovan will be attending but they have made arrangements for their own lodging. They are planning on bringing a guest too.   ;D

As said above hurry and let us know if you will be in Friday night for dinner. Maybe around 7:00PM. Corner of Hwy 457 from Bay City and FM 2611/2004 from SH 288 Lake Jackson
Looks like we should make plans for at least fifteen at the table(s). We need to find out if we can bring our own cooler.  Remember last year they ran out of Shiner!  >:(

Hey y'all,

I'm pulling together the boat and room assignments. Please let me know ASAP if you have made boat plans with someone and if you'll need a place to sleep at Alan's or Bill's and how many nights.

If you haven't signed up, please do so. Boat & room slots are on a first come, first served basis.

That sounds like a plan, Joe!

We will meet at Denny's at 7:15 - 7:30 and at the ramp at 9 AM.  Too doggone cold to be overly motivated!

Just because we are meeting up at the ramp at 8, doesn't mean we can't drink coffee for an hour until it warms up! Like I said, Pavon, Puck & I will be at the Denny's at Garth Rd around 6:15 - 6:30 for breakfast. Anyone who wants to join us, come on.

So far we have seven brave souls signed up for this. Don H. is still having sciatic nerve issues and had to drop.  If you don't have a boat/boat ride, I strongly urge you to bring a kayak.  The bottom is very muddy and really tough to wade.

Let's plan on meeting up at the Denny's at Garth Rd & I-10 around 6:15 - 6:30 to grab a bite before heading out. If you don't want to meet there, just meet us at Sabine at 8 AM.

Big time thank you to Bill Wallace, Jack Klinger & Don Hanselman for signing up. These gentlemen have boat and are willing to help haul our carcasses around the bay. When I get back from the Guadalupe One-Fly this weekend, I will begin matching people to boats.

Bill also volunteered his place 5 minutes up the creek from Alan's to sleep some of the guys. He has six spots in twin beds. Big time tip of the hat to you, Bill!

General Discussion / Re: Interesting article on Rollover Pass
« on: January 09, 2014, 03:02:14 PM »
I don't really know if closing it is a good idea or not. Yes, I know it is not a natural pass, but the run-off to the bay has changed quite a bit since the 1950s when it was built. I question the assertion that east bay is over-saline due to the pass. I have seen Trinity as fresh as Lake Livingston. Certainly, due to development, there is considerably more run-off than there was in years past.

All I really care about is what is best for Galveston Bay.
