Does anyone else have an opinion?

This week's Orvis podcast had an interesting discussion with Aaron Adams of the Bonefish Tarpon Trust. He and Tom Rosenbauer discuss fishing for tailing reds.  Good podcast!

If you haven't signed up yet and/or paid, you need to do so now. I am assigning boat spaces based on when you sign up and whether or not you're paid up.  Unless your name is on the signup sheet, you are not signed up!

Hello Darth!

Most of the ponds are fine for fly fishing. Don Puckett's (Puck) subdivision has some good places to fish for bass, bream (sunfish) and catfish. We also do quite a bit of saltwater fly fishing in the club as well. Trout fishing is a bit more difficult as the nearest trout waters are the Guadalupe River and it is a put and take fishery. We will be having an outing there in late Nov - early Dec if you are interested.  Feel free to send me a message if you'd like more information on what's going on. Welcome aboard!

Outing Information Only / Re: Guadalupe River - November 22 ???
« on: September 10, 2014, 09:44:00 AM »
Right now we have tentatively set the date for November 15th. My fear is that the river will not have been stocked by then. The 22nd is the Louisiana outing and I don't want to schedule this the same weekend.

It seems we have three options:

a) Keep it on the 15th and hope to Hades that they stock fish.
b) Do it the Thanksgiving weekend. By Friday night you will so sick of your guests that you will do anything to get out of the house.
c) Make it the November outing in December and have it December 6th.

I'd like to start preliminary work on this, so please give me your thoughts on dates if you are interested in going.

Why don't you post pictures of that four feet of snow that you'll be up to your *** in come December & January!!!  ;)

I can loan out a handheld VHF if someone needs to borrow one. You'll have to stop by the house to pick it up.

Tracy & I went down to the ponds in Puck's subdivision this morning. The conditions weren't bad, but the fish were not real aggressive. In 2 1/2 hours, I caught a bream about the size of my hand and a 12" catfish, both on a #10 black woolly bugger.  Had one other follow. Tracy almost caught a small turtle but he got off.

We may go back tomorrow, depending on the weather.
